James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation Opens Fellowship Application Portal for Secondary School History Teachers
Alexandria, VA– The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation is excited to announce the opening of the application portal for its prestigious Fellowship program, designed specifically for secondary school U.S. history and civics teachers. The James Madison Fellowship aims to enhance the teaching of American history and government in classrooms across the nation.
The James Madison Fellowship provides up to $24,000 for a master’s degree in American history, political science, or a related field. This opportunity is open to current or prospective secondary school teachers of American history, government, or social studies who are committed to fostering a greater understanding of the Constitution among their students.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
- Be a teacher, or plan to become a teacher, of U.S. history, U.S. government, or civics at the secondary school level (grades 7-12).
- Possess a bachelor's degree or plan to receive a bachelor's degree no later than August 31 of the year in which the applicant is applying.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and a passion for American history and government.
